   Civil case - Employment discrimination. Assuming plaintiff presented
   a prima facie case of national origin discrimination and discharge in
   reprisal for engaging in protected conduct, the defendant provided
   evidence that he was discharged for insubordination, a legitimate, non-
   discriminatory ground, and plaintiff failed to show the proffered reason
   for his discharge was a pretext; defamation claim failed because plaintiff
   did not allege that a purportedly false performance appraisal was
